Roundabout road markings difficult to read

I see so many posts here discussing what is the correct way going about a specific roundabout and it usually comes down to following the road markings.

The issue I find with that is many times the roundabouts are congested especially the major/bigger ones where you can't see the marking and that makes it really difficult, especially when in someplace new.

I just wanted to know is it just me or does someone else struggle with road markings as well, especially when you don't already recognize or know the names you're looking for like a304 or something.
