Why is Sengoku Dynasty so much worse than Medieval Dynasty? What happened?
I’ve been playing Medieval Dynasty really heavily for the last 3 months. I absolutely fell in love with the game – on PS5 it runs great, looks beautiful, and the whole atmosphere just pulls you in. It’s one of those games where you say “I’ll play for an hour” and suddenly half the day is gone.
Yesterday I found out that the same developers released Sengoku Dynasty. I got super excited – same genre, same studio, but with an Asian/Japanese theme. I bought it full price expecting a similar experience.
And… honestly, I’m shocked. The graphics look like they’re 10 times worse, the optimization is terrible, and the whole presentation feels like it was made by a student who doesn’t really know what they’re doing. I genuinely don’t understand how two games of the same type and genre, from the same developers, can be so far apart in quality.
Can someone explain what happened? Why is there such a massive difference between the polished Medieval Dynasty and the extremely rough Sengoku Dynasty? Is it a different team? Different budget? Was the game rushed or abandoned?
And also – have you actually played Sengoku Dynasty? Is there any hope that it will get improved, or should I not expect much?
