Barbarian or Berserker?

Hello everyone, this is the question that keeps me up at night. Is it better to have a Barbarian with crazy hp and 20 Dr or a Berserker with full plate and GM? I consider that specialization in place of GM isn't so bad, since it means I can spec in a number of different weapon types, while GM kinda forces you down the full spec route. Which of the two do you think is best? I'm obviously talking about a pure berserker, im not really into spellcasting.

BTW this would be both for Core/insane as well as Hof.
