Hamster have a sprained leg

Question

Two days ago I noticed when I woke up that my Russian dwarf hamster couldn’t walk, I mean he could but it was verrrrrry slow, very difficult and he could not climb ANYTHING. So I took him to the vet and she told me that my hamster had a sprained leg. She said because my hamster is really small she couldn’t do anything except give him pain medication. She also said, no wheel for 3 weeks, no plateform or elevated surface for 3 weeks. I brought him to the vet with a lil carrier 20 cm length and 16cm wide. She said to keep him in this carrier for 1 week so he can’t walk too much and he has his water and food ultra close. My hamster is used to a really big cage so it’s really unfamiliar for him. He doesn’t seem to be very bothered by the situation but a bit stressed as expected and I feel like he sleeps a lot more. Even if I wanted to he can’t go back in his normal cage because the bedding is paper bedding and it’s just too difficult to walk in it for him. I don’t really know what else I can do except listening to the vet and bring him interesting food and give him the pain medication…so if you had any idea I would love it. Thanks!
