Do wooden beds last longer than metal ones?
So I'm doing the classic "overthink a simple purchase" thing and now I'm stuck wondering if wooden bed frames actually last longer than metal ones. I keep seeing mixed opinions. Some people swear by solid wood frames, saying they hold up for years and barely make a peep. Others say metal is the safer bet because it won't crack or warp and it's usually cheaper to replace if something goes wrong.
My current metal frame is starting to squeak every time I turn over and it’s driving me nuts at night. I’m kinda tempted to switch to a chunky wooden frame but I don’t wanna drop the money if it’s gonna end up with the same problems in a year.
If you guys have had both, which one survived the longest for you and did you notice a real difference in noise or sturdiness over time? Trying to avoid buying something I'll regret again.
