So how bad is OT0 for Switch1 really?

I have a Switch 2, but I would really prefer having a physical copy and I'd honestly rather disappear into the sea forever than support the gamekeycard idea (not to mention RIP to my memory), so I'm debating buying the Switch 1 version instead. Most of the info I can find on this is prerelease stuff so I'd like to hear from people who've actually played it.

I could probably live with the graphics, although I'm not thrilled with the fuzziness, but the reported performance issues have me a bit worried. Is there anyone who's played the Switch1 version (preferably handheld on Switch2 but I'll take any info I can get) who can weigh in? For example, how difficult is it really to reach the max on placeable objects in your town? Does the town even do anything or is it aesthetics only? Is the low framerate noticeable when you're actually playing it?
