I'm looking to get the best litter mat and could use some advice from experienced cat parents

I've been eyeing [this one](https://d1vsa0evaa8kw9.cloudfront.net/?q=GMKAO285) that's currently on sale. From my research, I've read that honeycomb mats are supposed to be better because the holes catch and trap litter more effectively than flat textured mats. Then 2 layers design lets litter fall through to a bottom layer, so cats don't just kick it back out when they step on it. Other than that, they're easier to clean since you can just lift the top layer and dump the collected litter

But I wanted to get real opinions from people who've actually used them before committing!

A few questions:

1. For those who've used honeycomb mats - do they actually work as well as advertised? Does the dual-layer thing make a real difference?
2. What size mat would you recommend for someone whose cat tracks litter everywhere? Is bigger always better or does placement matter more?
3. Any specific brands or styles you'd recommend (or warn me away from)?
4. What's been your experience with cleaning and durability? I want something that'll actually last.

Any experiences with honeycomb mats or alternative recommendations would be super helpful!
