How not to care about the consequences of one's actions?
Hi all,
I am a very much type A personality type. Always have my ducks in a row, thought about the consequences of my actions, underlying paranoid personality type. Been quite afraid to do things that may result in me being in danger or thinking about other's feelings. Very much black and white, right or wrong.
My now 25F ex-best friend started cheating. She decided to sleep with someone who already is in a relationship and she has also met this person's partner who thought she was very 'sweet' . This for me is completely immoral and something I am ok in ending a friendship over. I believe that cheating is up there with rapist and paedophila as it is deceptive, manipulative and shows a lack of integrity. I am more understanding of cheating if you are not happy with your partner they are abusive or not fulfilling you needs in some type of way. But to actively pursue someone already in a relationship just stinks. We have discussed this a lot and argued about this a lot but she seems very nonchalant about the fact it is wrong. I believe this is more of a red flag not to see what you are doing is wrong.
Her behaviour is much more flirtatous, she will flirt with married men at work and those who are much more senior to her. I have always disagreed and discouraged her to do this as people at work have started making comments they she is having affairs with this men.
Now as much as I wholeheartedly disagree with her actions, I can't but admire this lack of care for consequences. To be able to do these things without a thought of karma, the fact that is it wrong or to even be ok with the guilt - I find amazing. The lack of care and being selfish going through life much be very freeing.
Although her situation is not something I'm planning on doing (cheating), the characteristic of the art of not giving a fuck, regardless of who you hurt is something I want to emulate.
Any advice on the above
