What are your thoughts on Ultraman's out-of-nowhere and one-off power?
I can't help but feel like it's very convenient for the Ultras to suddenly have a very specific power to resolve each episode's problem without any prior establishment
Take Cosmos for instance, in episode 6, he just has the power to bring inanimate objects to life with **Cosmo Realize--**a power that as far as I know he never uses again. Similarly, in episode 8, he uses Digitization to get into the machine Ayano's hooked into. Again, a one-off power.
I know that doing something out of nowhere isn't necessarily bad, but doing it once and never again without any explanation just makes me enjoy the character less. I much prefer when they establish proper limitations to the characters' power, so that we as the audience know what they can and can't do. That way, we get to see how they use their existing abilities to overcome obstacles, which I personally find more satisfying than pulling something out of nowhere.
If any of you have any canon, or head-canon, explanation, I'm all ears. I'm making this post not to nitpick, but to expand my view.
