How does the horse fit into the picture? Is Colin going to ride it at the wedding?

I'm still struggling to figure out why the horse is so important to the show, when a hot minute ago, it was the cost of the wedding and the venue. Does Colin want to ride a horse at the wedding? Is that where this is going? I realize that he likes horses and that Balen is afraid of them. Is that all there is to the horse issue?
