Cat complains when petting reaches lower body?

When giving a full body pet, my cat will occasionally complain (feels like a complaint), and sometimes walk out, when my hand reaches some point around the rear legs/coccyx area. I am talking about specifically petting over the spine/back. I can't tell if it's pain, discomfort, or whatever.
