AIO I feel abandoned after pregnancy
My partner and I were doing long distance. We had LONG detailed conversations if I were to ever become pregnant he would expedite moving to me no matter what! His exact words “nothing could keep me from coming back to you I want to be part of my child’s life.”
Well 2.5 years later despite everything we got pregnant during a visit. I told him immediately, sent confirmation. He said he would be back in three months. He wanted to pay off the debt accumulated from taking the flight etc.
Then life emergencies happened, three months turned to six. Six turned to nine months. My entire pregnancy I was alone. He took a flight to show up for my delivery and left 24 hours later. I had a high risk pregnancy. I was put on bed rest. I begged him to come. He kept accusing me of not caring about debt.
His exact words to me “ I get this debt means very little to you but financial stability has always been important to me.” I told him the debt isnt going anywhere ( it is around 12k they were serious emergencies) no matter what area he lived in. I was even desperate enough I offered him money that would give him a whole month to find ANY job.
He didn’t want to settle for just any job. Despite the fact he’s only a temp at à warehouse and working all hours whenever they want him at à catering place. He will go to work at 11am ànd claim to never know when they will get done. He will sometimes be there after midnight - two AM.
He will call me on his drive home. Talk to me before bed. Sometimes we talk when he drives to work for his other job. The debt isnt going anywhere for some time. He provides me weekly financial support for diapers and things I might need. But physically hes not here. Has zero plans on moving while he has debt.
The only way we will be together is if I pack up and move to him after taxes! AIO here? I’m pissed ànd now we often fight (over text he doesn’t yell at me or anything it’s more just text “bickering”) because I told him he abandoned me. Which he will throw the financial support in my face but it’s not the same as being here..
