Is a steamer iron for clothes actually the easiest upgrade for us who hate ironing but want ironed fits?

Question

I have reached a point in adulthood where I finally admit that most of my outfits would look better if I actually dealt with wrinkles. The problem is I really hate ironing. Between dragging out the board and figuring out the right heat setting for each shirt, it feels like a whole commitment. So now I am wondering if a steamer iron for clothes is the shortcut I should have tried years ago.

I borrowed one from a friend to test, and honestly, the difference in effort was surprising. I did not get runway crisp lines, but the shirts fell a lot better and the fabric looked cleaner without that “I just rolled out of bed” texture. I tried it on cotton, linen, and a couple of synthetics, and the results were good enough that I started comparing different models online. A few on Alibaba looked similar to ones I had seen at Target, just without the branding.

What I am trying to figure out is whether this is actually a worthwhile upgrade for guys who want to look put together without spending half an hour ironing. Does the steamer become the thing you reach for every morning, or does the novelty fade once the rush of real life kicks in.

Would love to know how it changed your routine if you made the switch.
