25F, Unsure about getting SMILE corrective surgery

NSFWOther

Two years ago, after my prescription having had stayed the same for years (myopic in both eyes, -4.25 in the right eye and -3.75 in the left), at age 23, my prescription improved in each eye, for some reason after I'd already made the switch to photochromic lenses for a year (though I can't say for sure if this was the cause). It became -3.50 in the right eye and -3.25 in the left. I got new lenses in my glasses and all that, didn't expect it to budge again.

I'm in Delhi for another week now on a visit, and my family insist that I get my vision corrected by this one doctor who's operated on pretty much the entire family. Done LASIK and cataract on the lot and is extremely experienced with SMILE too, since this is his daily bread and butter. I got a vision exam done the standard way and found out my prescription has gone down again, now -3.25 in the right eye and -2.75 in the left eye, so a 0.25/0.50 improvement. Despite getting corneal thickness tests done, which proved that my corneal thickness makes me a good candidate for SMILE, I am still extremely hesitant and not sure if I want to go ahead with the procedure, despite the doctor telling me this is 'normal myopia' and that I have nothing to worry about. I don't understand why my vision seems to be 'improving' like this at my age, and if I should take caution instead, not get the procedure done, get myself retested in 2-3 months to see if my vision really has improved or if that 'improvement' had just been temporary.

My family think I'm being crazy, trying to find answers and not completely trusting the doctor. They don't understand why I won't just get it done. I am also in Delhi for only a bit more than week, and I can't get this done at this price point by an experienced specialist anywhere else. Am I wrong to be sceptical?

I don't drink, smoke or do any drugs. Didn't do so in the past either. Not on any medications now or in the past.
