Hey everyone, i've been hiking and fell running my entire life in the mountains of the UK and have been using plastic ziploc bags this entire time and more recently used a lot more single use plastic packaging for gels, powders, food, snacks and energy bars.

I've started making more of my own fuel and snacks at home to save money but also to reduce the single-use waste I was creating.

So the last year and a half i've worked on this project called DirtBags and i've just put it live on Kickstarter [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/forthetrail/dirtbags-reusable-compostable-zip-bags-for-adventures](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/forthetrail/dirtbags-reusable-compostable-zip-bags-for-adventures)

At launch they are two sized bioplastic ziploc bags that can be reused over and over and eventually when they wear down can be home composted instead of putting in landfill.

But even if you can't home compost, if they go in to landfill and were only used once (which i do not advise), they ask far less of the planet in their production than single use packaging and plastic ziploc bags.

Be great to hear your thoughts and if you can afford to back the project that would mean the world so we can do more for the places we love to explore.

I've spent the last year and a half working on a reusable, compostable and ultralight fuel and gear carry system to replace single use packets and plastic ziploc bags that all end up in landfill
