Is this the best way to use this living/dining space?

We're going through the process of buying this house (we already have a lender and solicitor, so just waiting), and would massively appreciate any advice on how we can use this space to make it comfy but also feel spacious.

The main living space/dining space is the full length of the house (with an orangery) but due to the location of the doors all being on the same side, and the lack of windows on the other wall it seems there's only 1 way to organise this room, and that's as the current homeowner has it.

We're going to swap the carpet out for some hard wood due to make it easier to clean up after the pets, and add some panelling to add depth to the walls.

In the distant future we hope to turn the orangery into a full width extension to give us more space for a kitchen/dining space, but for now we need to get settled into this space.

The main issue is I can't figure out how to orientate the space, the light is very contrasting, the front window isn't large, and at the back is a glass roofed orangery which floods light in.
