Childhood abuse in future relationships
I’m wondering if anyone is feeling the way I do. I grew up with a mentally unstable mom. She would manipulate my thoughts to fit her agenda. She made it seem like she was all knowing & could pull up a camera at any moment. Eventually I realized it was all a lie & she’d play mind games to get me to tell on myself. Now that I’m an adult I’m thankful for my upbringing in a weird way. I’ve dogged multiple abusive relationships, cut off friendships & left a job because I can see when I’m being manipulated. It takes an average of 7 times to leave an abusive relationship, but I’ve never entered one because I can see right through a person. Anyone have similar experiences?
