How should I organize my extracurriculars to show depth vs breadth for college applications?

Extracurriculars

I’m a high school junior trying to figure out how to present my extracurriculars on college applications. I want to show depth in my main clubs while also demonstrating versatility and leadership with supporting activities. And I also want to know what is a good number of clubs for Top colleges like the Ivy Leagues. Is this a good number of clubs or is it too much or should I decrease my number of clubs to have more time to myself? And lastly how do you start a passion research project?

Here’s my list:

Depth / Core Leadership Clubs: • Brilliant Black Builders (BBB) – President • Robotics (FRC) – Impact Team / Presenter • DECA – Event Lead • Passion + Research Project

Supporting / Strategic Clubs: • Youth & Government – State Participant • Key Club – Service & Fundraisers • National Honor Society • Principal’s Advisory Team (PAT)

I want to: 1. Highlight depth, impact, and leadership. 2. Show I’m well-rounded without listing too many clubs. 3. Maintain a balanced number of activities (quality over quantity).
