Are resume builders actually worth it or just expensive templates?

Been job hunting for months and keep seeing ads for resume builders everywhere. Finally caved and tried one last week after my 50th rejection email (yes I'm counting). Honestly? It did help me spot some formatting issues I missed, but I'm wondering if I just paid $30 for what I could've done myself with a Word template and some Youtube tutorials. The ATS optimization features seem legit though. My old resume probably got filtered out before human eyes ever saw it. Anyone else tried these tools and they got a job?
