What are some popular Australian pastimes that locals enjoy on weekends?

I'm curious about how Australians typically spend their weekends. Are there any popular activities or pastimes that locals look forward to? I've heard about barbecues and going to the beach, but I'd love to get a broader sense of what a typical Aussie weekend looks like. Do people often engage in sports, outdoor adventures, or community events? How do these pastimes reflect Australian culture and lifestyle? Any personal stories or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
