To those that wish that HotS had meaningful monetization, here's some worthwhile causes

Discussion

I sometimes hear the complaint that there's little incentive to spend real money in HotS, since you can get every Hero and cosmetic you want just by grinding. Fair enough. If you are looking to support your favorite game though, I'd like to suggest some alternatives where small amounts can go very far:

  • Heroesprofile does the lord's work for stats tracking, and is far from cheap to operate. They have a [Patreon[(http://www.patreon.com/c/heroesprofile/).
  • Elitesparkle runs various projects including a discord bot for tooltips, a site with documented and undocumented patchnotes, and a bunch of guides. He's also active on this subreddit providing valuable information. He has a Patreon.
  • Icy Veins still actively develops their Heroes section. Apart from paying writers (like Elitesparkle) to write and update guides, they also recently implemented a Talent Calculator. They have a Premium Tier.
  • At any given moment, there's probably a fundraiser for a tournament running. The community is overall light on sponsors, so a lot of it is crowdfunded. Here's one running right now (disclaimer: I'm involved in this tournament's organizing). You can also support competitive streamers like HasuObs or Khaldor.
