Thoughts on this? Vacationing with family and family not hanging out with us.

My husband and I and our two kids usually take our family on a yearly trip. Our families have no money so we pay for them. (My mom is fully blind, my husband's dad is missing a leg in a wheelchair and his step mom is jn her 70's) so it is really nice for them.

We have brought them to Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico etc and are in the Dominican now. My kids are 3 and 6.

My husband's dad and his wife hang out with us the entire trip mostly. They sit by the pool with us and they eat many meals with us. This has been the case every trip.

My mom and her husband ( they have been together about ten years) usually do their own thing.And when we tell them that we will be swimming or eating at a restaurant at a certain time , they often don't come along, say they just ate, just got back from the beach etc..

It has been the exact same way on every trip. We have probably spent an equivalent of three hours with them on all trips combined.

I brought my brother and his GF this trip and they haven't hungout with us either. I mean, they are young though (25)

Is this weird?

Also,To clarify, it is a 100%.Our decision to take them, they do not ask or expect this of us.I just like doing things for people
