Can I keep a muted Short live after the original audio was removed?

Question

Hey everyone,

I run a daily Shorts streak, and one of my past Shorts is now flagged for deletion because the original video I sampled was removed by its creator. The audio in my Short is already automatically muted, so it no longer contains copyrighted content.

The Short is currently public, but I’m worried it will still get deleted. Does anyone know if YouTube ever allows muted Shorts to stay live when the original audio is removed? Has anyone successfully kept a muted Short up in this situation?

I’ve already emailed YouTube’s copyright team asking, but I wanted to see if others have experience with this.

Thanks for any advice!
