I built job management software because I got tired of software built by people who’ve never run a job
The difference: Every job management platform is built by SaaS founders who’ve never cleaned a window, fixed a boiler, or rewired a socket.
They don’t know what it’s like to: • Quote a job with dirty hands in the rain • Schedule around cancellations while you’re halfway up a ladder • Try to read a screen in direct sunlight • Operate software with gloves on • Lose signal mid-sync and lose an hour of job notes
I’m a window cleaner. I write code. I built Marion because I live this problem every day.
What’s different: Marion is designed for the actual job: • Offline-first (syncs when you have signal, not before) • One-handed operation (big buttons, swipe gestures, minimal taps) • High-contrast UI (readable in sunlight) • Fast input (templates, autofill, voice notes) • Zero cognitive load (you shouldn’t need a manual to log a payment)
What it does: Free forever: • Customer database with full history • Scheduling with drag-and-drop calendar • Quote builder with templates • Job tracking and payment logging • Staff accounts with permissions • Works offline, syncs automatically
Pay-per-use: • SMS reminders (you pay cost + margin, roughly 7p per text) • Route optimization (you pay API cost + margin) Premium (late 2025): • AI tools for pricing, scheduling, and profit analysis
Why the pricing matters: Jobber charges £299/month whether you have 10 customers or 1,000.
Marion charges £0/month if you don’t use SMS. £10-12/month if you’re sending 150 texts. It scales with your actual usage, not arbitrary tiers.
Beta launch: March 2026 I’m looking for 50 trades businesses (any trade – electricians, plumbers, gas engineers, gardeners) to test this.
What you get: • Free beta access • Lifetime 50% discount on premium features • Direct access to the founder (me, the guy who actually uses this daily)
What I need: • Honest feedback • Feature requests from people who do real work • Patience (solo dev, full-time window cleaner, I respond fast but I’m not a support team)

Questions: “What if you give up?”Your data is local-first. Export anytime. I can’t lock you in.
“Why should I trust you?”You shouldn’t. Try it. If it’s shit, delete it.
“How is this profitable?”SMS margins, API margins, and premium features that actually create value. If I can’t build tools worth paying for, I deserve to fail.
Why I’m posting this: I need input from people who actually run jobs. Window cleaning is my world, but Marion needs to work for sparks, plumbers, gas engineers – anyone with recurring customers and mobile work.
If you’re on paper, Excel, or paying too much for software that doesn’t understand your job, let me know.
DM or comment. I’d rather hear “this won’t work” now than launch something useless in March.
