Question: How mainstream or at least plausible is the theory that this whole calamity is actually reaching into the supernatural realm (aka religion, reincarnation, aliens, Vatican etc.) as it is depicted in Maria Farmer's panoramic painting (the banner of this sub)?

I'm deep into many conspiracy rabbit holes and people like me should probably not be taken too serious, I believe a lot of crazy stuff but I'm also able to do reality checks from time to time. I'm also not dogmatic about anything in particular, neither religious, philosophical, conspiracy related or scientific stuff.

Therefore I just wanted to ask the people in this sub personally:

Is this a 100% man made calamity, the evil of mankind so to say or do you actually believe it goes further than that? For example the Gnostics (a long gone religion from before Christianity) believed that this realm was inverted and ruled by the devil while the true god resides within humanity or conscious beings itself.

Also as a bonus question: For those who actually are religious: Do you believe that this evil that is being uncovered is an expression of the ugly human soul (us being sinners, greedy etc.) and god just "tolerates" it because we have free will or do you believe that this evil is part of the creator of this world, too?
