Genuinely why do people call Blade bad?

:Discussion:Discussion

I understand the grievances with his fleeting identity, but why tf are people calling this character weak? And don't get me started with people telling the devs to buff his sword mode gameplay. WHYYYY?! Do people not understand an ability has to be sub par and situational? It's easy to aim and has low skill requirement. His shotgun is also pretty good and let's me win 1v1's vs the best DPS in the game (Psylocke!).

His damage to tanks is also insane and even though his anti isn't crazy, it's still a reduced healing ability, it will punish 90% of tank skill levels for their positioning.

His block is an insane ability no one talks about; let's you parry CC and screw someone over, he absolutely eats up Angela for this exact reason. It blocks 80% of damage if i remember correctly and as a bonus it regens your dashes which are the most debilitating CC abilities in the game. I've booped multiple Angelas off the map cause they keep falling down all the way to the void. You can hold angles that no other character can hold.

The character is very versatile too, you can sit in the front line or play off angles or even momentarily flank because you can damn near assassinate people with his shotgun damage. His shotgun is the key.

My main gripe really is people saying that his sword should be more powerful or maybe even trade off his shotgun effectiveness for sword effectiveness. But NO. Abilities like the sword mode are low skill and making them effective is both broken and will become unfun over time (take it from me as someone who played a lot of rogue-likes the same way over and over). The way he is now is the most fun he'll be and NO he shouldn't be swapped to the tank role.

PS: I do think they made a mistake by making anti-heal count as CC. That removes the entire weakness of CC immunity in the first place and will be annoying to balance for them

Tell me what you think
