Just blew up at my 4 yr old

Ugh I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Rather my 4 yr old woke me up on the wrong side lol at 5:45 am. His new thing is getting up before 6 am and its killing me. On top of that, I have been telling him he cannot go in the baby’s room until I say it’s ok - I want the baby to sleep as long as possible. When he slinks out of my room after waking me up I ask him where he is going and he says “my room”. Of course instead he goes straight to the baby’s room and wakes him up. I’m seeing red. I just lost it on him. I feel like I don’t have that many rules (I try just to enforce things related to safety/making him a good human and really pick my battles otherwise, to stay out of useless power struggles) so when I have a rule like “stay out of baby room until I say you can go in” and he lies to my face and defies me I just lost it. I know now I need to repair but I am still so mad. I dont want to be mad. I am trying to regulate myself and put it all in perspective and then handle it like the adult I am but I needed to vent here. Sometimes these kids are just little assholes and it doesn’t mean we hate them. It just needs to be said. Ugh. Hope the rest of you get your day started on a better note than me!
