I watched Strange Fake Episodes 1–4 plus the opening. And here are my thoughts.

Review

Honestly, there were some parts that felt a bit disappointing, like how Gilgamesh’s face animation occasionally looked off, or how some character movements during dialogue scenes felt a bit stiff.

But the fight scenes were absolutely top-tier. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who mainly watches for the action.Especially the fight between Jester and Hansa, the quality was so high it reminded me of the Chainsaw Man movie and JJK battles. The other fight scenes were great too.

And here’s some good news for Tsukihime fans, a Tsukihime Remake character appears in the opening. Dead Apostle Ancestor Van Fem shows up with a fedora and a cane. It passes by quickly, so Tsuki fans should pay close attention to the opening. The opening song is by Hiroyuki Sawano. PROVANT

My answer is that just watching Fate/Zero is enough. If you want to enjoy it even more, you can also watch Fate/Stay Night (all three routes) and Tsukihime Remake, but it’s totally fine if you don’t.

And someone asked me, if they want to watch Fate/Strange Fake, what should they watch in the Fate series first? My answer is that just watching Fate/Zero is enough. If you want to enjoy it even more, you can also watch Fate/Stay Night (all three routes) and Tsukihime Remake, but it’s totally fine if you don’t. As someone who has read all of the Fate/Strange Fake novels, I recommend watching Fate/Zero because some characters from SF are connected to it and it slightly impacts the story.
