Boosting to merchant?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I looked in the wiki but just wasn’t sure

If I’m level 85 sailing, can I go straight to merchant shipwrecks if I have the whirlpool surprise in my keg?

Won’t have to worry about any additional boosting?

Thanks in advance!
