Testing washing machine?!

My partner recently moved in and we’ve started using her washing machine as it has a dryer. However when I last use mine it stopped working when we had a split water pipe. Following the advice on someone on Reddit who was a service mechanic, they said the likely culprit is the water inlet valve and I have since replaced this. It was relatively easy, however to do so I had to move it to the shed. Does anyone know what parts from Bunnings I would need to test it now works by connecting it to the garden hose (as that’s the nearest water source)?
