JOTL as a gamer dad
Hello everyone,
Just snagged my first copy in this series of games, I picked up Jaws of the lion. Based on everything I've read, this seems like a fantastic game that my group would thoroughly enjoy. There's only one thing: it's rare or rather impossible that I'm ever going to see a campaign through.
How far could we get into this game with a single 3-4 hour session? Is this game still fun, even for an occasional one off game night? Or is this a game that only works with a more dedicated group?
For some context, my intro to the hobby was Imperial Assault, and me and my gamer dad friends absolutely adore it. For us, playing the first 3 missions of a campaign is plenty of fun. It helps that imperial assault let's you play basically any side mission with a small buff to your xp and items before you start, so there's no lack of content for a one night session.
Any thoughts? Could I get through the whole tutorial with them in a single evening, and would that be enough excitement for a great time, even if we don't open it again for 4 months?
