Any recommendations for someone considering moving to Portland?

Looking For

Hello Portland. I'm currently considering moving out west from Michigan and Portland is one of the places I'm wanting to check out. Was hoping to get some guidance on things to get a more of a locals' experience than a tourist experience.

I'll probably be using airbnb's and might try multiple locations. Are there areas I'd be better off staying out of?

Curious if anyone has suggestions on places/things I should check out. I'm typically drawn towards parks, small trails, scenic views, roads/highways to drive around with trees/scenery, districts that are pleasing to walk around in. I'm not opposed to checking out tourist attractions, so feel free to suggest those as well.

Any food recommendations? My comfort food ranges from pub food to multicultural. Any good Greek, Indian, Thai, Japanese places? Definitely open to other nationalities as well.

Given the current political climate, are there any roads or blocks I should be cautious around while exploring?

Thank you for your time and responses!
