I got my first app in the App Store in a week!!

Hesitant to post this bc I read a lot of Reddit comment sections and it’s scary lol but if this inspires one person, I’ll be happy!

I went from idea to App Store in a WEEK- and I’m still having a pinch me moment!

It started as “I just need one place to keep gift ideas and Christmas shopping organized,” and somehow turned into an actual iOS app that survived:

• multiple App Store rejections • a bunch of UI tweaks • Apple guideline weirdness • me trying to overbuild • and me wrestling Xcode at midnight

..ChatGPTing and figuring out every SINGLE step of the process

But it’s live. Like… people can download it!

I built the whole thing using Gemini, Cursor 2, Claude, and lots of copy/paste → test → cry → fix → repeat. No traditional coding background, just curiosity/stubbornness and AI tools that basically worked like teammates who don’t sleep.

A few things I learned building this: • Shipping something tiny will teach you more than planning something huge • Apple rejections are low-key free product coaching • You learn insanely fast when you’re frustrated but still curious • Every time you think “ok this is the final version,” you find three more things you want to improve

Nothing wild — just a simple tool I actually use for my own holiday gift chaos. But now it’s real. And the feeling of shipping something you built with AI? Kind of addictive, lol. I'm working on my next idea now. If you’ve been sitting on an idea and haven’t touched it yet… start! Pick the smallest possible version and build around that. The tools will meet you halfway!

Happy to share how I did the whole flow if it helps anyone else here (it's chaotic and I can't guarantee it's the BEST- but it got me to the store, babyyyy!)
