So, I was one of those promise ring girls. At age 13, I took my vow seriously, and did not lose my virginity until I was 21. I lost it to the man who was destined to be my first husband—and a man who just happened to be 53 years old.

Fast forward to see a newly divorced 29 year old female who has never in her life been with a man in his twenties. I meet my second husband, and we also have a healthy age gap. After 12 years of a perfect and beautiful fidelity, we went to the Garden of Eden on a mutual dare. It is only a little past 10 pm on the 3rd of October. I amaze my husband by quickly becoming one of the few topless women on the dance floor. He does me one better by going completely bare.

But as we made our way around the floor, I saw a slim figure in the dim light. And my heart skipped a beat…because I saw someone I recognized…from a picture on the wall at home.

With my own two eyes, I at last saw my husband almost exactly as he was in this photograph when he was interviewed on television at age 27. A perfect angel who I have had a secret crush on for years—and here he was only several feet from us—smiling, and perfectly naked, too.

But damn it, damn my time—I was too shy to smile back, or invite him to join us on the bench where we were sitting. If anything—just to flirt and talk with the beautiful creature. We did not stay at the Garden of Eden long—perhaps just an hour. But my eyes found him again, and by the way he interacted and seemed to be a welcomed figure at the bar, I could SWEAR he was a Key West local. (And I have a hunch his hair might have been on the redder side if I were to see it in daylight—and there might have been a beard to go along with the radiant smile, too.)

Sadly, the story stops here…but just know, young sir, that you went on to be the explosive rocket fuel of MFM fantasies for us BOTH in the weeks to come once we returned home. Fantasies that we would not have dreamed of revealing to each other had the Garden not worked its magic. So the moral of this story? Carpe diem friends 😭🪽

I saw the perfect angel in the Garden of Eden. Two months later, I can’t get him out of my head
