Update - Light fixture connected between HOT and Ground wires...

Original post at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskElectricians/comments/1pfyh9v/light_fixture_connected_between_hot_and_ground/

Update: Opened up both swtich JBs and both light JBs and mapped which wires are going where... From what I see:

LB - (Light at Bottom of Stairs) - connects via 14/2 to Breaker Panel, via 14/2 to LT and via 14/2 to something downstream.

LT - (Light at Top of Stairs) - connects via 14/2 to LB and via 14/2 to ST

ST - (Switch at Top of Stairs) - connects via 14/2 to LT and via 14/3 to SB

SB - (Switch at Bottom of Stairs) - just the 14/3 romex to ST

Below is a crude sketch of this

Looking at this, I can get LT to work from both switches, but I cant get both LT and LB to be in parallel and switched from both switches... Unless I am missing something completely...

Would the experts here please chime in?

PS - this is the situation at the stairs, two 3-way switches and two light fixtures, at top and bottom of stairs each.
