So, in Dev Diary 16 they announced they are gonna make Let It Die an offline game. Other then mentioning players will be able to migrate their player data, nothing was really talked about. Leaving up everything for speculation. I'm making this post to start a discussion as to what this could mean for the game.

A few days ago I was in a voice call with a few others in the LiD Discord server and we thought about all the posibilities for a good 2-3 hours. I'd like to write some points here of things that the offline version will (most likely) have. As well as some things I hope it will have. Ofcourse, modding can change everything but I'm mainly interested in the version **they** will release.

There will be a lot of things that need to change. Death metals essentially will become infinite/serve no purpose as the devs will stop selling them. That also means they no longer need to design systems in a way that incentivizes spending. Everything tied to time (events, weekly quests, daily reset) will also cease to exist as all offline games either don't have a time bases system or it reads of the users system clock, which is easily abused. A lot of the points I mention will adress these things.

I will split it up in 3 sections. But the points within these sections are in no particular order.

* **Things that have to change** Certain elements or core mechanics that have to change on basis of it now being offline.
* **Things that might change** (mostly) QoL improvements that will have a high chance of being adressed or implemented.
* **Things I'd like to see changed** Things I don't asume they will change but that would be a nice improvement or thing to have.

# Things that have to change

1. The way the game is being supplied. Is it offline but still a paid purchase? Will they give it out for free? Will they host it trough steam or just a download link on their website/release the files.

2.0 Removal of DH express.

2.1. Storage either needs to be upgraded with KC, or they will give everyone maximum storage (2000) or maybe even higher.

2.2 Express passes can no longer be sold. This implies you can no longer have this effect. But most likely I think they will give everyone permanent express pass status. Probably right from a new account but maybe as a 40f/50F reward. Or as a reward for killing the 4 forcemen quest (as its current reward is a 1 month pass).
This also implies permanent TDM inssurance but I'll cover this in a later point.

3.0 Dustins.
Dustins lose their value to the devs. Either all dustins become free (green version) or they will remove dustin entirely. My guess is that base game dustins will be removed (aside from palewind/401+ 51F gate) andd that all tengoku dustins will be free.

4.0 DM revives
Since DMs lose all value, what will happen with dm revives? Reviving endlessly will take all fun and challenge out of the game. And locking it behind daily revives doesn't make sense to me. As people can just abuse that by waiting/changing their system clock. I honestly have no idea what the best way is to go about this. But making all revives free and infinite is not it for me.

5.0 ''Offline'' TDM
TDM is an inherently online mode. Making this offline is challenging.

5.1 Enemy bases.
My hope for it is that they will have a bunch of dev bases. These dev bases are locked into their tiers (bronze, silver, etc) and their ammount of stealable resources never changes. This ensures a steady supply of SPLitheum and Kill coins. In order to raid other bases; My idea is that you'll be able to generate a code for your TDM defense. Other players can input these codes in order to add your base to their raid list. These bases won't expire and you can even add multiple bases from the same player. The code used for the base tells the game how your defense is set up.

5.2 TDM teams.
I'm guessing they will get rid of teams. As the main appeal is to win wars to get death metals. Since DMs will lose their value, so do wars. If they do decide to keep the teams. I honestly have no idea what they will do. As for changing teams, I asume they will make it free (instead of the 600K Kill coins it is now).

5.3 TDM Inssurance.
If they decide to keep TDM insurance and its a permanent thing, this will discourage players from making any good bases. Which means a lot of TDM might just be incredibly boring. TDM is a necesarry game mode for any mid to late game player in order to aquire resources. But that all changes if everyone gains permanent insurance. As it removes any sort of need to make a TDM defense. I myslf can not foresee how damaging the impact will be if they make this easily or permantly accesible for everyone.

5.4 Waiting room decorations.
They currently cost DMs so I'm asuming these will be made free or made to cost KC.

6.0 Decals

6.1 Premium decals (from Momoko Shop)
Premium decals will no longer be sold with Death metals. They will have to make them all cost kc or entirely free. Since the devs no longer need a ''loot pool'' to line their pockets, I think all decalls will just be added to the shop and pulling from any sort of stew ceases to exist.
As for how they implement this, it depends how much they care about balancing. Giving everyone full acces to free 5 stars at 1F would be insane. My hope for this is that the player can unlock more decals for every 10 floors they progress. Momoko's current shop offers increase every time you reach a new area. So they could add all the decals in the game that way and I think that would be the healthiest option. Maybe up to 100F where the strongest 5 stars will be added to the shop.
Ultimate Fighter which is currently only being sold as part of a DLC could also just be added to the ingame shop.

6.2 Premium decals (from Platinum/Rainbow bags)
These could follow the same as my 6.1 proposal. Or maybe there can be repeatable quests for taking out dev bases. Or every dev base raid guarantees a bag. (Brown bags for Bronze bases, Rainbow for diamond, etc.) Even if its just 3 dev bases per rank thats still 3 rainbow bags per day.

6.3 Collab decals
Collabs will be covered in a later point.

6.4 Express login bonus decals.
Just make them available for purchase.

6.5 Non premium decals.
Good riddance I'd say.

7.0 TDM blueprints
TDM seasonal blueprint sets (Violent Grinder, Lion dancer, etc) are currently sold in hernia which rotates every thursday. This could serve as backup but with the devs no longer earning money off of DMs, I don't see why they would do this. I imagine they will add these sets to the base tower or make quests for them (Kill X sceamers/haters on CW floors for Lion dancer blueprints for example)

As for the golden weapons blueprints. I think it would be amazing if they made them rewards for reaching max mastery with said weapon. This helps players try out all the weapons and incentivizes leveling your mastery even more.

8.0 Tower rotation
Tower rotation will most likely be something to select upon entering the elevator/1F escalator. Much like choosing roots in Tengoku. Or they will still function as normal but be based off your system clock.

9.0 Haters/Hunters

9.1 Haters
I don't know the details as technically as some other people. But haters are other players that died in the tower. However, it has already been proven that the equipment of said hater isn't always the equipment that said player behind that name even has or had when they died. The devs however do pull these haters from an existing pool. So I can't say for certain how it works. But with no player database, how will they handle this? Will they take the current pool and make it permanent? Or add some changes? Will everything become dev haters? I honestly don't know nor know how to best go about this. this is the MOST infuential system that will affect end game as everything past 41F is only haters (aside from bosses)

9.2 Hunters
Just like haters, hunters are player characters. This system is currently not being used much by any serious players so I would be suprised if they keep it. If they do, it could also be with a code method though this would be easy to abuse and send yourself easy hunters. I think its best if they scrap hunters entirely.

10. Timed quest
Just make them all aviable and infinitly repeatable. I am not talking about the ''event'' tab but not event quests like aniversary or X million downloads. Just the same ones you see every week/season.

11. Seasonal shrooms
To be honest, not sure how you'd go about implementing these if you don't tie them to the system clock. Adding them to the base pool also seems weird. I'd personally would like to get rid of them entirely, at least past 40F.

# Things that might change

12. Since there are no servers, login bonusses seem redundant. They could tie it to your ingame clock but again, easily abused. The first 10 days of login for any account are always the exact same. (Here's hoping they bundle it into a one time reward upon account creation or make a permanent new player login bonus instead of just using them for specific events.)

13. Anything timer based, which now uses DMs to speed up, could be removed and become instant. As theres no longer any reason to time lock these things. (R&D, Purchasing, upgrading bank/tank, etc.)

14. Changing player names. Since theres no database anymore. Everyone should be able to change their player names.

15. Forcemen fights now being always free instead of 30K(hard) or 100K (Nightmare) on repeat attempts.

16. Traveling/wandering shop (Kommando Kawasaki) has a current cooldown timer of 1 hour. This might get tied to your system clock (easy abuse) or they will make it so you can buy as much as you want from him. I really, really hope its the latter.

17. Event blueprints (From Lid itself)
Red Scythe, Birthday glasses, Yes/No knife, Mejin helmet, etc. Add these to the R&D screen for new accounts. Or make easy quests for them.

18. ZX Items. Make these knight pits a permanent addition to the tower of barbs.

19. Deathverse Items
This pertains to the UD2 Helmet, UD2 Decal, Queen B Decal, Bryan Zemeckis Decal and Deathverse Waiting room decoation.
These could be given to the player right away or trough quests. Since its their own franchise, I don't foresee any problems, licensing or otherwise that would really prevent them from making these permanently avaible.

# Things I'd like to see changed

20. 100F TENGOKU ELEVATOR WHERE YOU AT!!?? *Do I need to say more?*
Add one for 200F and 300F too while we're at it.

21. Weapon skins.
For weapons which share the same mastery, It would be nice to change between the skins.

22. Change decals in Tengoku.
Give us a mini-momoko or something like that on Tengoku/Neo boss floors so we can change our decal layout mid-run.

23. Collab items (not counting deathverse)
23.1 Minor collabs. Minor collabs that were PS exclusive only had certain decals. None of which hold any real value other then the novelty of having it. Stuff like MFS kun or Dengeki Playstation. I think these should be scrapped from the game.

23.2 Mayor Collabs (World of Tanks, Gravity Rush, etc.)
I highly doubt they will give us any of these collabs (licensing issues) but if they do, I hope they will add the haters to the base tower in the same way that we have Yotsuyama chargers now. Or they just add the blueprints straight to everyones R&D screen. Decals can also just be purchased for kc or given for free. Hernia exclusive weapons like the Beam Katana or Demon gun could also be put on the hater drops or put straight into the players R&D screen.

24. Blueprints
24.1 Make recycling bluepints worth way more. As it stands, its nto even worth to pick them up if you have dupes. And theres no difference between anything in the gold tier. A thunderbolt blueprint is 200 RE points, but so is a bowling stomper blueprint.

24.2 Reduced chances to find dupe blueprints and higher chances to find newer ones.

24.3 Significantly better droprates for Tengoku blueprints (Especially Neo forcemen like Dragon, Backdraft, etc.) or an ability to buy them with Bloodnium from Hernia.

24.4 Get rid of the bat and buzzsaw blueprints in the blueprint pool.
These two get automatically added to the R&D any new Let It Die account. So they do nothing but dilute the pool of blueprints you can find.

25. More quests. Specifically for climbing Tengoku further than 120F, or any Neo towers. Also make the tengoku climbing quests complete when reaching the same floors in NEO. als 90-100F Neo is essentially 180F-200F Tengoku.

26. Any way to spawn jackals faster. Maybe a purchasable whistle item from hernia that has infite uses (basially a consumable item like barbmeat but that wont run out) and can be used once per floor to start the jackal spawning instantly.

27. Make evershroom great again!
The thing got nerfed so damn bad its whole effect basically doesn't work (I don't think anyone has succesfully noticed any difference since the nerf)

28. Bloodnium multipliers. Maybe X3 like the event. Or make it so that you gain more Bloodnoum the more R&D you've completed. Making it easier for endgame players to rack up the required bloodnium for materials/blueprints but it doesnt make people fresh in tengoku able to climb rapid fast. Multiplier should cap out way beyond X3 when this method would be used in my opinion.

29. Stamps
Make them easier to perfect. Instead of having to reset an entire 10 floors, just make it so that the stamp machine respawns when you get to the waiting room. And the higest status of stamp will always persist. So you can perfect them over time but never will have to redo any of them that you already perfected.

30. For the Memmories tab, only save the image of the very first Don Kills. Not repeat fights.

31. Buffed map markers.
Make map markers better. What type of enemies are there. What Grade (stars) of materials are there. When using treassure hunter/spy in Tengoku, tell us which exit is the correct one.
