Programming Challenge: Can You Make This Robot Follow the Exact Path? (Open Roberta / Block Coding)
Hi everyone!
I created a small programming challenge using Open Roberta Lab, a block-based environment often used to teach coding logic through virtual robots.
🧩 The Challenge
The goal is to program a LEGO EV3 robot simulation to follow the exact same path shown on the challenge mat below.
It includes:
• straight segments
• precise turns
• orientation changes
• smooth trajectory matching
The main task is:
How would you code the movement logic?
Would you break it into steps? Use loops? A small state machine? Maybe proportional control?

💬 Discussion
I’m genuinely curious:
- How would you structure the logic for this path?
- Would you use motor rotations?
- Timed movements?
- Sensors?
- Or a hybrid approach?
I’m collecting different strategies from programmers with different backgrounds — beginners and experts are all welcome!
