What to do about invasive species in the house?

First off, yes I understand that humans are the most invasive of all. But I also don't want to further destroy the environment that is already worsening because of us. I have always tried not purposefully killing bugs, leaving them alone, and releasing them when I can but today I killed one and I'm feeling very conflicted. The bug I killed was a stink bug, which are very invasive where I live and I don't want to release something that can greatly harm other species outside. I was first going to leave it in a bag in the trashcan but I felt that was much worse and cruel than instantly killing it because it would've had to suffocate slowly. I don't know anymore, should I have just left it in the bag? I try my best to follow Buddhism as well as I can but i don't think I can not kill an invasive animal in the household if it means that my decision to free it will harm others...
