Anyone else get the feeling that they're viewed as being too much, difficult or annoying?

My parents always make me feel like I'm difficult.

This summer I had the opportunity to work with the police. It was a youth job where we were basically being paid to learn, so, obviously, I'm gonna ask questions. On a phone call with my dad, I told him that nobody could answer my questions and he basically told me that I shouldn't ask too much questions because I don't want to be seen as difficult. Come to find out that my coworkers AND MY BOSSES depended on me to ask questions because I was one of the few people who did.
