i love burping post-botox
i want to make this post adding to the countless successful testimonies and encourage anyone who is on the fence about seeking treatment for RCPD! i am a 23 y/o female and spent my entire life completely unable to burp, spare a tiny one maybe once a year. i was so accustomed to living my life with a near-constant uncomfortable feeling, and was quite nervous to seek medical intervention as i had no previous medical history and had never had so much as an IV. i finally had the procedure done (under general anesthesia with 60 units) in late august at the emory voice institute in atlanta, ga; over three months later and i am so happy with the results!!
i want to emphasize that burping is a normal bodily function that is necessary for anyone’s body to function smoothly, and you deserve to live a normal, comfortable life. i think many people who have RCPD think that because they are still able to go about their lives without any major problems, treatment would cause more stress than relief. i would do the procedure even ten times over if i needed to, i finally feel like a normally functioning person. i can eat meals in public with much less social and general anxiety because my body is no longer under literal pressure and stress! i can enjoy carbonated drinks of any kind, i can finish a whole meal, all things i avoided previously.
i will say that learning how to burp was not something that came as naturally as i expected! obviously it was a crazy foreign (and gross tbh) sensation at first, and it was hard to know what to do to burp in the first place. at first i would turn my head up, down, left, right, left, doing a whole cheat code trying to summon burps hahah. but when i was successful, it was such a satisfying and relieving feeling. it honestly still is such a satisfying experience that i don’t take for granted (especially because i still owe $1500 for it😅). everyone should have the right to functioning body, and i truly believe it is the necessary foundation for a healthy mind. i am hoping anyone seeking help or treatment here finds it someday 💖
