anyway to play local co-op on stardew valley?

Hello, I'm trying to play local multiplayer between a modded Switch v1 and a legit new Switch on Stardew Valley.
Both are running the same game version (1.6.15.3), but the v1 Switch keeps asking me to link the console to a Nintendo account, even for local multiplayer…

Is there any workaround to bypass this?
