Is it just on my side or has google home assistant turned completely stupid in the past couple of months?

My google home assistant has seemingly gone brain dead. The issue is mainly the voice commands, it hardly understands a thing anymore. I used to be able to use abbreviations and few words but now I simply cannot. It gets confused often.

For example, I used to say "ok google, AC at 21" and it would turn the AC on and set it at 21. Now I have to say "Ok google, turn the air conditioner ON, cooling mode and set the temperature at 21 degrees". (The "degrees" is important, otherwise it does not understand) I used to be able to say "ok google, AC fan max". Now when I do so it replies "sorry, your device does not support this feature". But if I says "set" before "AC fan max" it does it!

I also have multiple RGB lights that worked great, I used to say "Ok google, living room lights red" and it would turn them ON and set them to red. Now I have to say "Ok google, turn the living rooms lights ON and set them to red". Why, whywhywhy!? This is really frustrating having to repeat simple voice commands it used to understand flawlessly. Anybody else? Is there a fix for this issue? Thanks
