Tips for lifestyle changes during deployment?
Hi! Seasoned military wife, but just looking for new perspectives on stuff I struggle with.
Something I always struggle with during times of deployment and separation is maintaining a healthy schedule.
Without my husband, and this is something I struggled with before being with him, is finding the motivation to do a lot of basic tasks.
When my husband is here, I meal prep/eat healthy, drink lots of water, go to the gym regularly, and partake in many social outings even without him.
With my husband gone, I will maybe eat one meal a day, usually being rice or a veggie mix or something along those lines, and I often don’t see the point of leaving the house.
I don’t think I’m necessarily depressed or anything, but I just don’t feel the same need to do stuff like I do when my husband is around. I guess the best way to describe it is my brain saying “who are you trying to impress?” Realizing there’s no one to impress, and just kind of giving up.
A very long deployment is coming up next year, and I don’t don’t want to fall back into the habit of doing this for an extended period of time. Any advice would be appreciated 🩷
