I'm a FTM and I feel like my partner is being extremely unsupportive of me.
This may be long and I apologize in advance. Thank you to the people who read through it all.
So I (27F) had my first baby 7 months ago. My partner (29M) and I decided that I would be a SAHM bc we weren't ok with sending our baby to daycare. So I'm home with the baby 5-6 days a week for at least 10 hours by myself.
My partner usually gets laid off around winter time and we discussed this when we decided I would be a SAHM. He told me that they "actually had a lot of work for ppl this winter". So I agreed to stay home with the baby. Well this past week he didn't work at all except for Friday and Saturday. So I have been having to go out and doordash pretty much all day. Coming home for about 2 hours in between and then having to go back out just to be able to feed us and make sure baby has diaper and formula. So not even for bills.
I also have PPA, suspected PPD, pelvic floor dysfunction, and hashimotos ever since having the baby. I used to be healthy before giving birth, so these are all new and put me in a lot of pain especially when doordashing. Edit to add: I also forgot I'm anemic (extremely low iron levels)now too. To the point they wanted me to get an iron transfusion which is like a blood transfusion, the same concept.
A couple months ago I decided I was going to start a handmade fabrics business, starting with the easiest thing to make-scrunchies. It took me awhile to gather all the materials, but now I have all the materials and have been cutting all my fabrics lately and setting up the sewing machine. I haven't used a sewing machine in decades so when I got home from doordashing I decided to use my extra pieces of fabrics to do a few test runs. It took longer then I thought and my partner came into the room saying "wtf are you doing?" "You're just ignoring your daughter". An entire argument ensued where he sat there and told me "I should be coming home helping take care of our daughter instead of wasting my time on a hobby". I said "it's not a hobby, I'm trying to make us extra money that we need while also staying home with the baby, instead of doordashing where I have to be gone literally all day" (this stems from me telling him I'm going to get a job to help pay the bills and he will literally yell at me SOMETIMES that "no I'm not bc that would be abandoning our daughter"). He said "it's fine if it's guaranteed money (like doordash, which again puts me in a lot of pain), but I shouldn't be wasting my time on things no one is even going to buy". Then he also said that "I shouldn't be doing pointless stuff when we BOTH need to be watching the baby." We don't both need to be watching the baby, she is fine if it's just me and her and she's fine if it's just him and her for context.
To add into all this, when I get home from doordashing I have to clean up the house EVERY TIME. He has left it a complete mess but when he gets home from working the house is 100% clean and there's nothing left to do but spend time with our baby and dinner. I've told him multiple times that if I have to be out doordashing he needs to clean like I do when he's at work. He literally says "I can't bc I'm watching the baby". I said "then how do I do it all day 5-6 days a week by myself?" He said "bc you know she's different with me, anytime I try to do anything she's doing something she's not supposed too". She's 7 months old...she can't even crawl yet but she does roll to get to places. Edit to add: I also have to come home to do babies bath and her feed her only solids of the day and put her down for bedtime and cook dinner. I HAVE to be home by this time by his "standards".
Add into the fact that he has left her with a water bottle filled with water with the cap on to go poop. He came back, the cap was off and there was water everywhere. The cap being a choking hazard...yesterday I was cutting fabrics in the room with them while he watched her. He had her sitting up (she's not fully stable sitting up) and out of his arms reach while he laid against the couch and ate chips. She proceeded to fall backwards at full force and hit the back of her head, I heard the loud thud followed by screaming/crying, I immediately stopped what I was doing and went to soothe her. I called her pediatrician and they said to "watch her for 3 days" pretty much. He also wants to bring her around his family who are alcoholics and smoke marijuana 24/7 and some have violent tendencies (his mother), which I'm not ok with.
I just feel 100% unsupported in starting my small business and I feel like he is a VERY irresponsible parent and I just don't know what to do at this point. I'm literally sitting in the bathroom crying rn.
He came to the bathroom door (we have 2 bathrooms. One in each bedroom) and he started banging on the door loudly saying "open the fucking door". So he could pee, then asked wtf I was doing, I just pushed passed him and went to my baby who was crying bc he was doing all this.
