Best books on color theory for teens

Books & References :KirbyNoted:

It had to happen sometime. Something to do with art that my daughter does not nearly instinctively understand. Among other things to do with color theory, she thinks all shadows are gray and only gray, the kind that’s a combination between black (let’s not get into the different blacks) and white no matter what the objects are around it. I grew up painting and can’t seem to explain color theory to her very well. No matter how much I try I just can’t get it to click with her, and she thinks I don’t know what I’m talking about when I explain why colors other than just black and white are used when it cones to shadows on a snow-covered mountain on a day with blue skies. Rather than arguing, I’m looking for a color theory book that can help explain it to her better. I tried googling and came up with a bunch of webpages that had referral links to all their products which I don’t trust because how do I know they aren’t limiting the books they recommend to what is currently on whatever website. So please save us from arguing as she tries to insist that shadows are all black and white by letting me know what color theory books you would recommend. Bonus if they contain material that would apply to shadows in a pretty easy-to-understand way. Thank you very much.
