I Finished Homestuck, And...
...it's probably one of the best yet worse yet awesome yet awful yet...okay I'm getting nowhere with this.
Basically, I had an overall enjoyable time reading it. I decided to pace myself and not just rush through each panel (which was probably for the best given how many important story bits and pieces you can overlook), and what started as an benign but compelling read soon turned into a, to put it bluntly, clusterfuck of a plot that still somehow never made me sick of reading it semi-daily.
I don't have a whole lot to say in terms of analysis; Essentially, John's my goat, Spades Slick is the best character, the first 5 acts are personally my favorite (although I don't believe Act 6 is too shabby in most areas), and the ending was alright, but could've been a bit more...climatic? Not even sure if that's the word I want to use, but despite the undeniable spectacle of the last few panels and flashes, I felt like the ending was missing some essence of finality among some story aspects. Of course, with how immensely bloated the comic was by the end, I had no expectations of it being wrapped up in a pretty pink bow. For what it's worth, I think Hussie and the team did what they could to finish such a large tale. I mean, after all, I do have the epilogues to read. Those should be good, right? Right?
So...yeah. Homestuck is great. Can't believe it took me this long to actually read the damn thing, but I'm glad I did.
