CachyOS stable alternative

tech support wanted

Today, booting got stuck on Plymouth, and neither CachyOS nor the LTS version would load. Tried fixing it with a live USB, but that didn’t help at all.

All of this happened when the goal was just to play a quick match, which made the whole situation even more irritating.

Reinstalling CachyOS now feels risky, since the same issue could pop up again right when it’s least convenient.

Yes, CachyOS is bleeding edge and naturally less stable, but at this point a reliable, gaming-focused Linux distro sounds far more appealing.

With an RTX 5080, Bazzite isn’t an option. That leaves choices like Nobara — but is it actually good?

Starting to wonder whether Linux gaming is truly ready for daily use yet, or if waiting another year would be wiser.

[EDIT] From what I read, bazzite doesn’t support nvidia drivers very well. Let me know if I’m wrong
