Jonathan Isaac could be the key trade target to put us over the top

Mock Trade

Knicks receive:

Jonathan Isaac

Magic receive:

Mitchell Robinson Wizards protect pick

Why the Knicks do this: Isaac is an elite switch defender & rim protector. He would bolster the Knicks defense & address their lack of quality wing defense outside of OG & Mikal. He’s also been healthy in recent years. Also a local product (from the BX)

Why the Magic do this: The Magic want off his contract. He’s still owed 59M over the next 4 years. Mitch is a useful player that gives them cap relief & the Wizards pick is valuable even it converts to two second rounders ( which it likely will ). For them it’s essentially a salary dump & they gain some assets in return.
