Containers and Organizers
I’m still relatively new to dealing with AD. I’m an only child currently caring for my widowed mother with AD (stage 4 with whiffs of stage 5) and she has little plastic bins and organizers EVERYWHERE. her fridge is basically unusable because she has a ton of plastic organizers on every shelf.
Her condo looks like a Container Store that was invaded by a hoarder. Bins, buckets, shit like that EVERYWHERE. no real rhyme or reason to what’s in them.
My mom also has severe ADHD, bipolar, and likely Narcissistic Personality Disorder and/or Borderline Personality Disorder. We’ll never know about the latter two because she fires psychiatrists and psychologists within 10 minutes.
Do any of your loved ones with AD do this (millions of little plastic organizers)? She even wouldn’t let me throw away an empty pill bottle today because she said she could soak the label off and use to “keep little things in.”
Is this an AD thing? She has so many mental illnesses (her old therapist called it a “constellation”) that I’m not sure if this is an AD manifestation or if it’s from one of the other afflictions.
I guess I’m just curious if any of you have seen this behavior with your AD loved ones.
