AITA for calling my wife ridiculous for "not trusting my mom with our daughter" and saying she is going to be in our daughter's life?

I just don't know what to think right now. My wife "Cindy" is currently pregnant with a baby girl and I'm very excited. I thought we were on the same page about everything but she recently dropped a bombshell on me.

We were talking about childcare plans and her mom watching the baby so she can return to work. I told her my mom would love to watch her sometimes too (on weekends or so we can have a date. She works full time) Cindy got quiet and said she wanted to talk to me about my mom. She said she doesn't want her super involved with the baby as she "doesn't trust her" because she "doesn't trust women who only have male friends"

I was shocked and asked if my mom had done something to her. She said no, my mom is nice enough though a tad "stiff" but as a general rule she side eyes women who don't have any female friends. She pointed out that every single one of my moms friends is a man, she only ever hangs out with men, and she isn't even friends with her husband's female friend (they get along ok, just not super social) to be clear my mom has never said why all of her friends are men. She doesn't talk bad about other women, though to be honest she isn't friends with any. She has some "girly" interests but still only hangs out with guys.

I asked her if she was being serious and then I called her ridiculous. I said my mom was an amazing mom and she is going to be in my daughter's life. She treats my wife kindly and respectfully and we don't get to police who she is friends with. My wife got upset about the word ridiculous and has been cold ever since.
